Introduction

The scriptures say that sleeping under a tree at night is an invitation to disease, but this statement does not apply to Neem, because dead trees release carbon dioxide gas at night. But the Neem tree emits only life-giving, healing and disease-killing air.

Neem is a tree that does not cause any harm, is healthy and provides health benefits. In fact, Neem is called the Kalpavriksha of the mortal world. It is going to cure all types of diseases. In medical literature, the consumption of tender neem leaves in the spring season (especially in the month of Chaitra) has been specially praised. This purifies the blood and prevents serious diseases like smallpox.

It is said that one should eat lentils with neem leaf greens. , he has no fear of poison for 1 year and there is no problem even if a poisonous animal bites. The decoction of neem leaves is more useful than carbolic soap for cleaning wounds. Neem is also very beneficial for skin diseases like leprosy etc. Charak has counted neem among the 10 Kandun medicines like Bandan, Jatamousi, Amaltas etc. Apart from being a cure for skin diseases, neem also kills many deadly bacteria like E. coli, Salmonella typhi, Staphylococcus, Allium and Ariel etc. Research shows that It is known that Neem is lethal to about 200 species of insects. It is a powerful bactericidal, Its every pore is filled with blood purifying properties. Neem oil has been found to kill three species of bacteria that cause tuberculosis. The growth of fast growing cells is increased by applying a thick paste of neem leaves. The rate decreases. If research is done on this, then some anti-cancer medicine can be discovered. Neem oil is capable of killing sperms and prevents procreation by disrupting the action of brain hormones. According to a World Health Organization The task force has put neem in the list of anti-fertility plants.


External form

Neem (Margosa tree):  a blood purifier.Neem is an evergreen tree of 25-30 feet height. The stem is rough and grey in color, the leaves are shiny green. And new leaves are produced on each stem. They are slightly curved and shiny from above and rough from below. Flowering is from March to May, flowers are white, small and odorless, fruit is small oval shaped with greenish yellow seeds only one which is embedded in the almond coloured pulp







Chemical composition

Nimbin, Nimbinine, Nimbidine, a volatile compound is obtained from the bark of Neem. The oil contains tannin and a bitter component called marnosene. A biochemical element is found in neem which is called limonoid. Scientists have obtained different types of limonoids from different parts of neem, which have different properties and functioning methods. This is the reason that neem has an effect on about 200 insect species.

Up to 45% of neem seeds contain a stable oil. Palmitic, oleic, stearic linoleic and arachadic acids are found in it. Apart from this, sulfur is an alkaloid, Resin, glycoside and basa acid are present. Nimba Neera contains free amino acids. Tannic, calcium, potassium and iron salts are found in the essence of neem. Neem Toddy When some old neem trees become excited, a kind of liquor or toddy starts flowing from them. This liquor is extracted from many trees. It falls throughout the year. This sap is called neem toddy. This sap of neem is a rare medicine. It is a blood purifier and is very useful in skin diseases.


Properties

Neem may be cool in its immediate effect, but it is hot in the final result. It is only that. Therefore it is possible that neem is not hot.

From this it appears that though neem may be cool in the immediate effect, but in the final result it is hot. Hence it is possible that neem may be non-hot.

  • Neem leaves are bitter in taste, kill worms, kill leprosy and cure bile, anorexia and poison.

  •  Neem buds: The soft leaves of neem are astringent, cause gas and cure hematemesis, eye diseases and leprosy. 3. Neem bark is useful in curing diabetes, blood, cough, asthma, piles, tumours and worms.

  •  Neem flowers are anti-bile, bitter and destroy worms and phlegm.

  • Raw Neem is bitter in taste and in digestion. It is bitter, smooth, light, hot and cures tumours, worms and diabetes.

  •  Ripe Nibori is sweet, bitter, fragrant and cures blood bile, eye diseases, ulcers and tuberculosis.

  •  Neem bark is bitter in taste, astringent, beneficial in cough, loss of appetite, vomiting, duodenum, worm and liver disorders.

Medicinal Uses

Neem and Hair Problems:

  • Palitrog (Premature graying of hair) By giving several infusions of Bhaangra juice and the bark of Asana tree to Neem seeds, extracting their oil and taking 2-2 drops of it in the nasal passages and consuming only milk and rice, Palit disease is completely cured.
  • By taking 2-2 drops of ordinary oil of the seeds in the nasal passages and consuming only cow's milk, this disease is cured.
  • To make hair black, by giving several infusions of Mangra and Vijay Saar juice to Neem seeds, extracting the oil from the seeds and taking 2-2 drops of it in the nasal passages and using only milk and rice in the diet, white hair becomes black.
  •  For baldness and hair growth, take 1 part Neem leaf and 1 part Ber leaf, grind both well and apply its paste on the head and wash after 1-2 hours, new hair will grow in a month.
  •  Boiling neem leaves in water and washing the head with this water after it cools down strengthens the hair, stops their falling or shedding. And they also start turning black. Apart from this, many diseases of the head like pimples etc. stop coming out. Itching of the head If there are small pimples on the head, pus comes out from them or there is only itching, then washing the head with decoction of neem and applying neem oil regularly gives quick relief. Applying ground seeds or washing the head with decoction of neem leaves kills the lice and nits on the head.


Youth medicine

1. Grinding neem leaves, pomegranate peel, lodh, harad in equal parts with milk and applying it on the face daily like a paste cleans the face.

2. Rubbing the barkless wood of the root with water like sandalwood and applying it on pimples gives complete relief in seven days and pimples are completely destroyed.


Dental problems:

1. To cure dental problems, you should brush your teeth with neem.

2. Grind 50 grams of neem root bark powder, 50 grams of golden ochre, 10 grams of rock salt together. Then add 3 drops of neem leaf juice to it and dry it and keep it in a bottle. Its use as toothpaste cures problems like bleeding from teeth, pus discharge, mouth ulcers, bad breath, nausea etc.

3. Grind 100 grams of root, cook it in half a kilo of water and gargle with the remaining decoction. Many dental problems are cured.


Malaria

1. Grind 20 grams of neem root bark, add 160 grams of water to it and soak it overnight in a pot. Boil it in the morning. When 40 grams of water remains, filter it and drink it lukewarm. Similarly, drink it at night or 3 times a day

2. Grind 50 grams of neem root bark, boil it in 600 grams of water for 18 minutes and filter it. When no medicine is effective in malarial fever, then giving this decoction in the amount of 40 to 60 grams 2-3 times before the fever rises stops the fever.


Cholera

  • Consuming 10 grams of neem leaves with 1½ grams of camphor prevents cholera attack.
  •  Grind 5 grams of asafoetida, 1 big cardamom, 5 cloves and 250 milligrams of coconut coir ash in 50 grams of water, filter and heat a little and give it every 2 hours. If urination has stopped, grind neem flowers in water and tie it on the pelvis.

Loss of appetite: Fry 8-10 soft leaves in ghee and eat them to get rid of acute loss of appetite.

Vomiting:

1. Grind 7 neem thorns finely with 2 big cardamoms and 5 black peppers and consume with 250 grams of water.

2. In case of vomiting, loss of appetite etc., mixing 5-10 milligrams of bark juice with honey and drinking it is beneficial.

3.Grind 20 grams of neem leaves well and dissolve in 100 grams of water, filter and give 50-50 grams of it to drink.

4. Give 5 grams of neem leaf paste tablet with water or honey.

Pain

  •  Grind 20 gms of neem bark with water and apply it on the affected area. After drying, remove it and apply it again. This will cure the pain in 3-4 times.

3. Consume 10-20 drops of neem bark extract for 2-4 days. After two hours, consume freshly made roti with ghee. This will cure paralysis, hemiplegia and arthritis. It will also cure many other diseases.

Cough fever: Take equal parts of neem bark, dry ginger, peepal root, myrobalan, kutki and pudding. Boil it in 1 kg water. Consume 10-20 gms of the remaining kwath in the morning and evening.

On poisons

1. Grind 2 parts of Nivauri and 1 part each of rock salt and black pepper powder together and feed it with ghee and honey to destroy the stagnant and jagam poison.

2. Grind 8-10 ripe and raw Niboli and mix them in hot water and feed it to the patient. The person suffering from opium, Sankhya, Bachchnabh etc. poisons get cured soon by vomiting at the same time.

Chronic fever: Mix equal parts of Neem bark, Raisins and Giloy and mix in 100 grams of water and consume it in the morning, afternoon and evening for a few days.

Malaria

1. Take 5-10 drops of Neem oil 1 or 2 times a day.

2. Mix half part of alum ash in soft Neem leaves and grind it to make tablets of 500-500 mg. Taking 1 tablet each with sugar syrup is very beneficial in all types of fevers, especially malaria.

Blood disorders: Neem root bark is the best among blood purifiers. By preparing its decoction or cold extract and consuming 5-10 grams of it regularly, blood disorders are cured.

Hemoptysis:

  • A patient of hemoptysis should make a paste of 10 grams of neem leaves and consume it.
  • Mixing a little honey in 20 grams of neem leaf juice and 20 grams of adoosa leaf juice, consuming it twice a day gives great benefits.

Plague

1. Grinding 20 grams of neem root bark with 50 grams of water and filtering it and drinking it in the morning and evening, and grinding the leaves finely and making a poultice, dissolves the lumps of plague and gives relief from fever.

2. Grinding and filtering the neem panchaang in water and giving it in 10-10 grams quantity at an interval of 15-15 minutes and tying poultice of its leaves on the nodes and burning it around gives great relief in plague disease.

3. When plague is spread, consumption of neem does not cause plague attack. Neem is a Yogvaahi substance which reaches the small pores of the body and destroys the germs there.

Skin diseases

  •  For rash, ringworm, itching, boil, pimple, syphilis etc., grind the dry bark of 100 years old neem tree finely. Soak 3 grams of powder in 250 grams of water at night and in the morning filter it and mix honey and give it to drink.
  • Whether eczema is wet or dry, wetting the bandage in neem leaf juice and tying it and changing it regularly gives relief.
  • 8-10 leaves should be ground and tied on wet eczema.Sprinkling 5-10 grams of ash of 4 leaves is also beneficial.
  •  In incurable or difficult eczema, prepare a decoction by mixing 10 grams bark with equal parts of Manjishtadi Kwath and peepal bark and neem, giloy and give 10-20 grams of this decoction regularly in the morning and evening for 1 month, it gives complete relief.


Ringworm

1. Ringworm is cured by grinding 8-10 neem leaves in curd and applying it.

2.Make a tablet by mixing catechu, sulphur, suhagar, pitta papada, blue vitriol and nigella seeds in equal parts of neem leaf juice. Rub the tablet in water and apply on ringworm.
